I know a lot of you want to help out or volunteer and stuff, so I thought it would be interesting to give you guys a list of sites that you can take a look in to if you want to help out.
The first (and personally my favourite) is http://www.volunteermatch.org. Why is it my favourite, you might be asking? Well firstly, it’s really easy to navigate through it and secondly if you don’t have time or money to actually go into various countries and train people or volunteer there are online volunteer opportunities as well!
We all spend so much time online, the least we can do is actually go and volunteer a few hours a week and help others out.
For those of you in the
Pretty cool, right?
Now let’s get enthusiastic about helping others out! It’s not just about helping yourself. =D
So, if you’ve traveled to
Take a peek at www.hotelshopuk.com and feel safe in knowing you won’t have to spend hours looking for a specific destination. This website has it all nicely planned out for you and it’s easily navigated.

The concept to me seems a little risqué. I love Payperpost and I enjoy watching their escapades, so to speak from time to time but to dedicate an entire site just to the little video inserts they usually placed on their blog seems a little too much to me. Don’t get me wrong – if people want to sit down and roam through the site and watch the entire thing, that’s really up to them but it’s definitely a site I won’t be visiting often just so I can see the Days of Posties Lives.
It’s not that I don’t want to; it’s just that it really doesn’t interest me in the greater scheme of things, if you understand what I’m saying. Why would I take ten minutes out of my day to watch something that doesn’t pertain to me or to the actually “running” of PPP at most times. Its just that I’m so busy that my usual day just goes off to checking opps, posting a bit, MSNing and then rushing off to do real life stuff!
The whole layout of the website is gorgeous though. It’s easily understood and one can quickly manage to find their way through the entire website. I even found some of the text amusing.
Maybe the reality tv bit should have been left for a later date. But at the moment, I just don’t find the additional benefit of it.
Specially like the pirate touch ;)

I know a lot of you don’t love Payperpost – but honestly, how can you not? You get paid to talk about products, things, you love and I’m going to do the same thing for Payperpost.
Since I’ve started on Payperpost, I’ve made about $277 and the only reason it’s that small is because since I’ve moved back to South Africa I’ve been struggling to actually get any online time. But that’s going to change.
I’ve realized what a reliable source of income this can become for me and I’m definitely not going to let it go now.
So join up! I know you want to.
You know you want to get paid to blog!

So, I was speaking to my friend today and he said something that disturbed me. He said, “When I was six years old – I decided NOT to be gay.” This friend has always had female relationship problems, when he’s even had a girlfriend so when he told me this I couldn’t help but feel three of the following emotions:
1. Surprise
2. Realization
3. Worry
Each one followed after the other. I didn’t say it to my friend at the time but I believe he’s just in denial about being gay. Yes, if he thinks he decided not to be gay but thought he was for a time – then aren’t you ultimately gay and just too afraid to admit it? It’s sad about the way the world treats gays and lesbians, as if they are something to be ashamed of when they are just normal human beings like you and me.
Now – I remembered something about gay “cleansing” and decided to see if something like that still existed. Sadly to say there are still people who are being lead to believe that being a homosexual is something that can be cured. I saw a fantastic article on “The Facts About "Ex-Gays” and this is some interesting things they had to say.
7. To illustrate just how wacky the "science" is that's backing the ex-gay proponents, these are a few of the things that they say causes people to turn out gay:
· Masturbation
· Pornography
· Spousal abuse in the home
· Effects of the media/culture
· Parental adultery
· Moral relativism
· Seduction by peers
· Nearsightedness
· Hearing loss
· Chemical imbalances
· Parents parading nude around the house
· Poor hand-eye coordination
· Generational curse
· Intrauterine trauma - "If the mother was experiencing difficulty in her relationships with her husband while carrying the child or if she felt rejected, unloved, or unwanted by him or she experienced any other painful feelings during pregnancy."
These anti-homosexual scientists actually believe that these causes can create homosexual behaviour but let us take a look for a moment at some of these points.
- Masturbation: Claiming that masturbation creates a homosexual behaviour is almost laughable. I believe I saw once that almost 60% of males masturbate and almost 40% of woman masturbate. If we used this as an excuse for causing homosexuality then almost half of the worlds population should be gay. And we’re not.
- Pornography: I have a lot of male friends. A lot of straight male friends who watch porn like it’s a cereal commercial. Blaming homosexuality on pornography is almost as bad as masturbation. I can’t decide which one is worse.
- Hearing Loss: What does losing your hearing have to do with anything? People can be deaf and straight. For some reason I had a visual image of a commercial “I can’t hear but that’s why I’m gay.” With a cheesy smiling guy holding another guy. Give me a break!
- Parents parading nude around the house: My parents have never been shy about nudeness. Both of my brothers are straight. These people are just grabbing onto straws in my personal opinion.
- Intrauterine trauma: Has got to be my favourite excuse. Let’s just muse on this one and laugh a while….
8. And these are a few of the ways the ex-gay experts "cure" gay people and make them heterosexual:
· Men should play sports
· Men practice going fishing, women practice putting on make-up
· Men are taught to sit the right way, no crossed legs
· Men are taught not to stand with their hand on their hip
· Take away a man's Calvin Klein clothes and Barbra Streisand records
· Men should avoid extreme sarcastic behavior
· Men should wear short business-like haircuts
· Show a gay man photos of nude men while placing rotted hamburger meat under his nose - he will then associated repulsion with same-sex attraction
· The laying of hands on a gay man in front of the assembled church congregation
· Reading a specific prayer over your gay child to list his "generational curse"
· Forcibly abduct gay teens in their sleep, handcuff them, and send them to military boot camps where they are forced to march 20 miles a day with weights on their backs (this is a true, and horrible, story).

And now if you really want to laugh the above segment might just make you realize with what ignorant, selfish and stupid people some young boys and men have to deal with in order to prove that they are not gay anymore. Gosh, what sort of sordid people allow their children to believe that just because they are gay that they are lesser then?
It’s so sad. So sad.
This post is in memorial of Matthew Shepard who died six years ago from a brutal attack by anti-gay activists. If you haven’t seen a site dedicated to his death please take a look here: http://members.aol.com/arisiaart/Matt1.h
If you are gay and are not sure of how to deal with the strain, I suggest a few sites that might help you feel more comfortable with yourself and coming out of the closet.
